Solardrone was born in Extremadura, a very unique region in southern Europe whose demographics and climate place it in the top 3 of areas with the most photovoltaic plants on the continent.

Our CEO and founder José Quesada, an aeronautical engineer from the UPM in Madrid, proposed rethinking the way in which the maintenance of photovoltaic solar installations was carried out at that time.

After a few months of analysis and work, José proposes an unprecedented and completely disruptive technology so far that allows the maintenance speed to be multiplied by 10 and its cost divided by 10. This project is the winner of the contest “Ideas Emprendedoras del Mundo Rural” of the Diputación de Cáceres, being selected as the best among all the projects presented.

The confirmation of going in the right direction came two months later when he was selected among more than 900 projects to be accelerated by “Telefónica Open Future”, with an injection of capital and an incubation of 6 months surrounded by the best professionals to start transforming the initial idea, which had arisen almost as a concern, into a real business reality.

In 2018 Solardrone is the winner of the National Young Entrepreneurs Contest.
